Even as far north in Scotland as Orkney, there exists a house designed in the Arts and Crafts style with William Morris prints. According to a 2005 Sunday London Times Magazine article, the Byrdcliffe Colony in Woodstock, New York is the longest surviving working arts and crafts community from the early 20th century British led movement of John Ruskin and friends. So this watercolor detailing a part of the main building at the Byrdcliffe site, connects a favorite life long haunt of mine - from the Husdon River to Orkney, Scotland, artwork flows.
